The gap becomes more and more obvious as time goes by, affecting the gluing performance. Laser edge banding has a two-layer structure. The surface layer is ordinary edge banding tape, and the bottom layer is a special functional polymer. To put it simply, the principle of laser edge sealing is that laser edge sealing technology melts functional polymers with laser to join the edge banding tape and the board together to achieve strong bonding strength, thereby achieving seamless edge sealing. In the entire process, the laser concentrates energy to activate (melt) the functional layer with laser absorber. The reaction time is rapid, and then the functional layer disappears. The entire process and materials are very environmentally friendly, causing no material loss, and no additional secondary operations are required. In summary, the laser edge banding process is similar to the traditional edge banding process, but laser edge banding streamlines the edge banding process, reduces unstable factors, and reduces labor and energy consumption due to the integrated production of edge banding tape and adhesive layer.
